Green Sturgeon Acipenser medirostris (Wikimedia Commons)

 

A large, oceangoing species of sturgeon, the Green Sturgeon is found in the Pacific Northwest, from British Columbia south to the Sacramento River of California. It is characterized by having a long stripe on its belly and fewer scutes than the white sturgeon.  Green sturgeon tend to remain lower in the rivers than White Sturgeon do.
