The Owens Sucker is a California endemic, native only to the Owens River Drainage between the Sierra Nevada and Inyo and White Mountains. They were introduced into the Santa Clara River system during the construction of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, though it is unknown if Owens Sucker persist in the Santa Clara.
