the Master Species LIst
So far we've got 828 species in the database. Let's all step it up and see if we can catch so many new species that Corey has to add a ton and we break a thousand before the end of the year! I believe we can and will get there! Arriba los pescados ásperos!

I've only got 14 species

I've only got 14 species uploaded but I've caught 29 in total, I really wish I'd taken pictures of all the fish I caught before I started recording my species on here. including the ones in my 'please add' thread I've caught 14 that haven't been added to the list.

I know the feeling. I've caught 80 but I only have pics of 19... I've caught at least one more (apron du Rhône) that's not on our list....

There are some that should be

There are some that should be on there whether anyone's caught them or not. Coelacanth, for example. Whale shark.

And of course the saddest of all fish, the blobfish (Psychrolutes macricus):

I looked up you 'apron du rhone' and it seems they are very rare! the English name for them is 'asper' if you didn't know.

What you're asking is

What you're asking is obscenely hard without the help of Salt and Micros. Think about it 170 unique species. Unless we get a surge of west coasters its unlikely and certainly not with fresh roughfish. The "2nd fishing season" is starting as we speak however so are the colder months, making some fish harder to get. Its a hard task to catch a lifer, now imagine if you set out to catch a "site lifer", way harder, easiest way to do that, the evil salt ;)

I'm sure us overseas guys can

I'm sure us overseas guys can rustle up something, I might be going to turkey next year which might get me some 'site lifers'. But I agree with deftik, it's gonna be one helluva challenge to do it within the year!

@Ant, I know it's difficult..
@Ant, I know it's difficult... That's what makes it a challenge! I just think it'd be awesome if we can pull it off! @Hugo, we need you to step it up! And yeah, I know that species is rare! Critically endangered is more like it. They're endemic to the Rhône & Saône Rivers. I got one from the Saône in 1992 just outside Lyon, France.

I quickly running out of

I quickly running out of species to catch here! I only have 7 natives left and a 3 established non-natives, most of which have already been added. I'm sure I can pick up a  few lifers next time I go on holiday (I missed out on southern barbel when I was in italy, I think they were spawning) and there will always be loads of saltwater species I can catch.

I'll do what I can for
I'll do what I can for Virginia. We've got the slender redhorse and a few others. I'll be trying to add some endemic Tennessee drainage micros soon. I've got a couple up, but there's a crapload more.
