I have only caught one carp in my life by accident on the Potomac River when cat fishing with chicken liver. It suddenly became windy, lighting started popping with a heavy rain that lasted for at least 15 minutes and I just sat under a big bush on the bank in a poor effort to keep dry as possible. When the rained stopped I went to check my bait and thought I had snagged on the bottom only to pull up an 18 3/8s pounder. He didn't fight hard like a predator fish; it was more like pulling up an old water-logged tire from the deep.-lol
