My first ever bighead carp, 60 cm, caught at Carlyle Dam spillway in Illinois in October 2014 on a 3' chartreuse screwtail grub with a 1/8 oz jighead retrieved in the top column of water where tons of asian carps were feeding.

Pretty cool man. Those green curly tails must look like algae or plants to them, huh?

I don't think it has to be necessarily green, but gives better results to use more visible color like chartreuse and white in the usually turbid water of dam spillways.

This time, I used a natural color paddle-tailed 4 inch swimbait as well, but no fish bit it.

I am still not sure if it is a feeding action or a reaction bite.
