Mostly having to live vicariously through this contest and it is really a good one- but this shot brings really  it home for me -  can feel the squish of damp socks and balancing on the slippery slimy river mud at the edge of the sand bar... and of course Dr. Flathead summons up a super nice pancake and spadeface - now that's the essence of June!  Good ones Doc!

I almost asked him if he wouldn't mind riding in the back of the truck on the way home. He got schlepped by so much river slop.  And after that carp slapped him with splatter he was coated pretty good.

He did save my flopped off garf brooks from getting away though. What a good time we had.

Thanks Phil!  It was so freaking muddy. This was my first catch and you could still see my boots. By the end of the session it was ugly. Even borderline fuggly.
