Hello all, my first post here. I recently started videoing from my rowboat, mainly to see structure for fishing. Reviewing afterwards I saw in several locations on the Connecticut river here in Vermont a minnow with a black spot at the beginning of the caudal, then two white spots on the fin itself, then two black bars near the end of the tail. The tail was forked.
The video captures are not very clear, sorry about that, and I didn't actually catch these, I only discovered them after the fishing trip.
I can't find any references to any minnow with these exact markings. The closest thing I've seen in photos online is the whitetail shiner, though they don't seem to have the very distinct two black bars after the white spots. And also this would be way out of their range. So any ideas? I'm stumped.
I've uploaded a batch image set -- not sure how to add them to this post.
Thanks for any help!
