Miscellaneous Exotics

This group consists of a wide variety of fishes that have arrived in North America either intentionally or accidentally, and become established as invasive species. The vast majority of these have gained a foothold in South Florida, which has become a seething cesspool of harmful invasive species. These fish are nuisances which threaten the native fish community. We hate to even recognize these fish, as having them as a viable lifelist target could be seen as encouraging their continued infestation. For the time being, they will remain on the list as a stark reminder why we NEVER release non-native fishes into our waters.

This is also the default species group that new species will show up in if no other group is chosen, so please let the webmasters know if there's something here that shouldn't be!

Cichlids, Tilapia, Snakeheads, Walking Catfish, Plecos, Peacock Bass
