Week 2: Grocery Store Bait

Catch five standard-sized species of fish on baits bought from your normal everyday grocery store (First species caught is 5 points, 1 point for each after that, 10 points if you catch all 5 - so 5/6/7/8/10 pts possible). Include photos of fish caught as well as baits used.

You can take a picture of the baits separately from the fish pictures. It would be nice if you explained which baits worked for which fishes.

I think we intended the bait to be the sole attractant, so that means use a bare hook, and not a lure with the bait added in. Otherwise people could just put a gummy bear on the back treble of a rapala and go to town. You can use weighted hooks (jigheads) but not lures (spoons, cranks, etc.).

The packaging material or wrapper is not part of the bait; you're supposed to use the organic food-type material for bait. If a person could eat it, it counts. The only exception is peels from fruits and vegetables. If you want to use banana peels you can peel the banana and use the peel.
