The Striped Bass is a large, coastal predator. At home in either salt or fresh water, Stripers are excellent game fish. This is another southern fish that us northerners don't get the pleasure of tangling with locally. Stripers can be crossed with white bass in a labrotory; the resulting artificial fish, called "Wipers" are then stocked into lakes and impoundments for anglers.
