The Chum Salmon is as close as you can get to a roughfish, while still being a salmon. Although despised by the white man for its bland taste, the native Inuit prefer the chum for smoking, since it has little to no fat and thus can be preserved for long periods without spoilage. It is also called the Dog Salmon or Calico Salmon. These are very hard fighters and will savagely strike at a fly.
