The Yellow Bullhead is a typical bullhead. It tends to be fatter and deeper-bodied than the others. Yellows of over a pound are common, but they don't grow as large as the brown. The record yellow bullhead for Minnesota is 3 pounds, 10 ounces. Yellow bullheads are easily distinguished from the other bullheads by their chin whiskers - which are white. Yellow bullheads prefer a habitat full of vegetation. Weed-choked lakes and sloughs are their preferred habitat.
