A great time was had by all at the 9th annual Root River Roundup. It's Roundup time! I look forward to this each year, counting down the days until I get to meet with the cream of the Roughfishing crop down at Eagle Cliffs campground on the beautiful Root River. We camp out, eat very well, chat about the outdoors around a campfire, and - of course - fish like crazy. This year's event had a whole lot of highlights for me - catching a greater redhorse on an upper Root tributary, heavy stringers of brown trout caught on ultralight tackle, more than a dozen hogsuckers...... But what I really enjoy is catching up with good friends and spending some time on the riverbank with them. This group embodies everything that is good about outdoorspeople. The attendees change year to year, but that quality of character remains. I am lucky to belong to such a wonderfully crazy group. There will be a formal write-up on the Roundup, but I wanted to share a few photos here as well. I won't say much, just let the photos do the talking.
