HOOK: #2-4 Curved-shank, 3x long
THREAD: Yellow
BODY: Yellow plastic ribbing, tapered underneath with thread and dubbing
GILLS: 3 sets, brown marabou
THORAX: Yellow Dubbing
WINGCASE: Pheasant Tail Fibers
LEGS: Ruffed Grouse
TAIL: Pheasant Shoulder Feather, heart removed to create forked tail
EYES: Black Mono Eyes
When tying this pattern, first taper the underbody with thread and dubbing. Then tie in three sets of marabou gills along the body. they should be trimmed to about 3/8" on either side. Next, tie in the tail. Then you tie in the plastic ribbing material, and wind it tightly and closely up to the thorax and tie off. You will have to be careful to keep the gills protruding from the body. Tie in the wingcase, dub the thorax, tie in the legs and the eyes, then pull the wingcase over and finish. Take a brown permanent marker and color the back of the body.
