HOOK: #2-10 Streamer Hook THREAD: Brown TAIL: Brown Marabou BODY: Brown Chenile HACKLE: Palmer Brown Saddle Hackle
The wooly bugger is a must in any fly arsenal. It will take virtually any species of fish and works in a variety of conditions. The brown bugger in larger sizes is a great crayfish imitation, and can be fished with or without an indicator. This fly has accounted for the majority of my large smallmouths, and largemouths in lakes can't resist them either. As a general-purpose searching pattern in large rivers, nothing beats it. Absolutely any species of fish can be caught when fishing a brown wooly bugger blind.
