Hello everyone!

I just found this site and boy am I glad I did. Everything about this site is what I've been looking for and until a couple days ago, haven't been able to find. I'm the type of fisherman that loves to catch anything and everything that swims. I don't favor one method or type of fish over another. I don't believe in the term "trash fish" in the sense that most people use it. I enjoy getting outside and trying to fool any fish into biting my bait or lure. Anyways, I live in Western Montana not far from the famous Flathead lake. There are quite a few species of fish to be had around here but of course the most popular around here are trout, perch, pike, and bass. I go in spurts with different species and hit the largemouth bass hard this spring and used topwater almost exclusively. Now I'm back in "anything" mode and will hopefully be sitting on the bank of a lake or river tomorrow with my wife and 7 month old daughter. I'm looking forward to learning a bunch from you guys and hope I can contribute some good information as well.

Welcome

Welcome aboard!

June is a crazy month with by far the most posts and discussion of the year.

It is all perspective!

Thanks fellas! I'll have to

Thanks fellas! I'll have to put the species contest on my calendar for next year. I don't think we have near as many species available as alot of you guys but it would be fun to see what I can pull out of the water!

Enjoy it

Get that fishing in now while that kid is small! It is hardest to take them between 1 year and 2. They learn to walk, but not to be afraid of the water (or anything else!). Once they get over 2 years they at least know they shouldn't go in the water (althought it has happened to my kids twice by accident). Last year my youngest was learning to net fish at 2 years. My oldest is 6, does most of our catching and is learning to cast the long rods. Now I hardly get to do any of the actual fishing!
