I thought some might be interested in this story in the restoration of Guadalupe bass to Texas Hill Country rivers. In the 80s, smallmouth bass were stocked in many rivers leading to the demise of Guadalupes. In some rivers, there were no pure Guadalupes remaining.

There is an effort underway to restore the fish, you can read about in this story: Restoring Guadalupe Bass After the Smallmouth Invasion.

The story also has a bit of fishing, too.

Those guadalupes sure are cool looking. Wouldn't mind going on a quest for them one day.

Awesome! I've fished the Guadalupe before an encountered those hybrids. It was devastating.
