Heart says black, scale count says golden. Oh well. Still the coolest fish I've caught on that particular date.
From the sheen and dark pigmentation in the fins it hints at black, but can't be certain withut a photo showing the fins and lateral line lying flat. This is an example of a fish that screams black redhorse even without verifying key identifiers, but you really still need to check those boxes.
I opened the photo in Photoshop and messed around with contrast and such to get as much of a scale count as I could. It didn't seem close to Black Redhorse numbers.
