Buffalo, Bigmouth

<p>I&#39;m fortunate enough to know of a place where Bigmouth Buffalo hit mini twister jigs like bass... I fought 3 of them and lost before hauling in this beauty today - all hooked in the mouth after a definite strike. Fighting a Bigmouth Buffalo in strong current on an ultralight is about as much fun as fishing gets!&nbsp;</p>

^^^ agree with Henglaar great looking fish and I'm loving the pics you are taking with them.  Most my pics during the contest turn into rush jobs.

 

Still probably push you in a river, I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Lol thanks guys, I might not be able to compete in the numbers game but I'll make my mark in the photo category instead ;) this buff was real nice except for just a few missing scales - not to be unappreciative of the one i got, but you should have seen the one i lost... he was a monster that was so dark he was almost black with super bronze coloring over it... just too much for the ultralight to keep him out of the strong current and he pulled free of the jig. Just glad he didnt break off. Tony, come on down and I will give you a push to send you swimming with them :-D

Super cool catch Gary. That's my #1 dream fish. Same as everyone, I've had bouts with frustrating species before. But nothing touches the bigmouth.

Thanks, CC - I will be the first to admit how fortunate I am to live close to a spot like that, I think I am the opposite of everyone else in that I can pretty consistently catch Bigmouth from that area but have yet to catch a Smallmouth buffalo anywhere as of yet!
