Nice! Way to go. Nothing like adding a new tricky species.

Nice catch! If it's not top secret, what did the quill end up being fooled by?

I can only imagine what "sight fished this one hard" would entail. I'm guessing the kind of "hard" sight fishing that leaves one muttering things under their breath (or wailing out loud depending on one's proclivities), questioning their sanity, rubbing mud over their entire body and sticking tree branches out of their clothing for ultimate stealth....... the kind of hard sight fishing that makes that one little fish the center of the universe and fooling it life's one and only goal.......

glad you got it.

I would say it grazed over to the wrong crawler chunk.

It was a sit and wait and wait and fry and wait until I watched one finally suck it up. I truely beleive it is more of a chance game the way they were acting. I had the patience to sit until my butt and eyes hurt watching a piece of worm on the bottom of a sand with 2 feet of water over it. Cool catch but I will probably chase another fish next. It was scrappy though!

That's the way it is with carpsuckers.

It's almost a relief when you finally get one to take your bait in their mouth; it tries your patience. They won't deviate from their set course because of you're bait; it's always a matter of observing the fish and waiting, waiting, waiting.

It takes a great deal of patience and skill to do it. Congrats on catching a very difficult species. I spent hundreds of hours over decades to get my first.

Thanks Corey

Very Very frustrating. I have 2 others on but my timing was off and I did not get a good hookup and lost them.

Now I just have to get my Highfin and I have the 3!
