I certainly enjoyed all the fish i caught during June but i did have two non-contest incidentals that were pretty cool too. The first was an albino channel cat from a local pond. I couldnt count it for the contest because i snagged a bobber that it was dragging around. Removed two hooks, splitshots, swivels, a very wierd bobber, and a rats nest of line from its mouth.
The other was a softshell turtle- a lifer herp for me. Nippy little bugger. It happened to be the first documented softshell in this particular watershed so i made a little contribution to science too. When i let it go it bolted away fast as lightning, i never thought a turtle could swim that fast!
