An online buddy of mine gets into tinkering around with that stuff. He's done mostly industrial stuff, well, only mechanical outdoor sirens based off from real ones, tweaked a little.

Hey, I work in AutoCAD and have since about 1992. I did a lot of 3D in Architectural Desktop. I have been working for the last year for Christensen Shipyards building yachts. We do not do any 3D drawings in the Architectural end of it now, but the systems and piping is all done in Solidworks. I have been trying to talk them into buying another seat so I can have Solidworks in order to do the hulls and bulkheads in 3D, but the guys with the purse strings have yet to see any benefit
