I will plan to be there on the early side of the day with JK and will probably fish through the contest, but due to wife's birthday dinner Saturday must depart by just after 3:00. I am unfortunately low on jerky as my last big batch was nearly consumed by friends of mine 2 weekends ago at our annual boys ATFF (alcohol, tobacco, firearms and fishing) gathering. I have a couple of pieces of special hot jerky left for Andy and Corey who run this site. This batch is one I have labeled "15 seconds to Hell" as if you are eating a bunch of it, after about 15 seconds you will wish you had a beverage in your hand... Since this is Minnesota and we don't eat foods really hot, it's probably more like a Minnesota hot level than say a Thai restaurant level of hot.

We never thought about hippos! lol! And I was wading around in that water. Although I'm not sure what's worse...hippos or the "scum"...
Prepare yourself...its pretty nasty out there.

My wife doesn't seem to have any plans for me yet, so it's looking like I'll be able to make it, too.
I'll need a lift from Hidden Falls to the island, if possible. If someone with a boat could PM me their phone number, I'd be grateful. I'll try to be there between 8 and 9, but it's possible that it might not be until 10 or 10:30. I'll see if I can scrounge up anything of use for the prize pot, too.

I am so glad to see all the great folks that will be joining the Scumfoot militia tomorrow morning. Should be a great time.
KPE! THE 2008 Root River Derby Champ will be in attendance!
I look forward to meeting some new folks face to face whom I have only known through their posts on the board. I love meeting new Roughfishers and hearing their stories!
If anyone has any questions, needs a ferry to the island, or whatever, feel free to call me, I'll be up at 6....... Let's make this an event to remember! ~andy

Well guys, thought that Saturday would be the day to meet you all; however, tragically the sister of a close friend of mine lost her battle with Cancer, so I will be tied up for the whole weekend. Not sure if you guys are familiar with Hmong funerals, but they last three full days plus the morning burial. Have a good day guys, and I look forward to meeting all of you at a near future roundup. Stay safe and remember to shower later in the day if you decide to step in the river. Goodluck to all and may the best fisher(man or woman) catch the mighty elusive Blue Sucker.
