adjusting the size of photos in posts--possible? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Just curious--
When people post photos of their catches, if the photo's width is greater than the set width of the thread frame a scroll bar is created so we can see the whole photo. But the scroll bar is below all the photos, so you have to go up an down a lot to see the photos. Not sure my description makes sense. If there are descriptions of the photos, then they're lost in the left side netherworld when the photos are scrolled to the right. Is there any way the software behind the board could automatically scale photos down if their width exceeds the width of the message frame?
Thanks,
Olaf

"The bowfin is wholly carnivorous, and exceedingly voracious....He is the ravening wolf of the dark lagoons, the nightmare of the slumbrous coves. Skulking in deep water by day, he invades the teeming shallows by night, spreading terror and bloody execution in his wake." (from "Hellhound of the Sloughs" by Havilah Babcock, Field & Stream, April 1944)

I think your description makes plenty of sense. While I do not run this particular website, I have had a bit of experience in the operations of sites. The short answer is "probably not". I'm sure there are some message board systems out there that can do this, and this one may be one of those. But, typically a picture that is sized to 640 pixels wide (or less) should fit *most* threads. That of course depends on your monitor and video settings. If you only run in 800x600 video mode, none of this applies :)
