Longnose Sucker 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Doc and I were up on the North Shore yesterday and I finally got my Longnose. It seems like the window is short for getting them things. Here is a White/Longnose Comparison photo:

Go soak some worms Tyler!

Great fish Cast. I need to catch one myself. I recently added small sucker #2 to my lifelist with the Hog. Whiteys are cute in their own right but hogsuckers are such charming fish, and boy when you put them back do they EVER swim away FAST. It's like a small minnow. It trots along for a seecond then POOF just a cloud of sand and he's gone RIGHT NOW.

Have to find my longnose now..

Nice photo. I imagine the Longnose are finishing up about now up on the Shore, eh? Did you see many suckers in the riffles, or was it mainly Salmonids? ~andy

I think they are finishing up. I didn't see any suckers in the riffles. We pretty much fished one spot that had them for awhile and moved on to other species.

Outdoors4life was up there today for a little while. He might know what their status is more accurately.

Well.............it was nice to get out.

My father and I spent 2 hours fishing had 3 hits and no fish.

The guys that were down there before me said they only saw one fish and that was going up the falls.

It really does. Check out this shot of its nose. I guess that's why they call them the Sturgeon Sucker sometimes.

For those interested, the Longnose are still around, just up the shore a bit. We found a bunch while steelheading this past weekend. They are such cool fish, I wish we could find them year round!

They wouldn't leave my buddy's yarn flies alone!
