Traveling Roughy 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Have you ever heard/seen where someone will have a teddy bear (or similar) that they send with friends when they go on a trip. The stuffed critter would then be in a picture, in say, Mexico. Then the critter would be sent to another person somewhere else, and another photo taken. So eventually there is this big travel log showing all the places "Teddy" has been.

My thought was to take a Roughfish mascot/analog of some type. Send it to each member to take with them on a fishing outing/trip. Take a picture, and then send to the next rf.com member, and so on. Each picture could be posted on the website.

Why? Well, we have members all over the country, and several members overseas. Invariably, someone, somewhere, will ask about the roughfish.com critter. Which would lead to one of our members extolling the virtues of the numerous roughfish species. We, more than anyone, know the lack of respect/knowledge roughfish get. This could be a fun and interesting way to 'preach to gospel'..as it were.

what do you think?

"There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot."
~Steven Wright

"There is a species of fish that never looks at the clothes of the man who throws in the bait, a fish that takes whatever is thrown to it, when once hold of the hook, never tries to shake a friend, but submits to the inevitable, crosses its legs and says, 'Now I lay me,' and comes on the bank and seems to enjoy being taken. It is a fish that is a friend of the poor, and one that will sacrifice itself in the interest of humanity. That is the fish that the state should adopt as its trade mark, and cultivate friendly relations with, and stand by. We allude to the bullhead."

Very cool idea.

Imagine how that thing is gonna smell after a few rounds of general roughfish contact (I suppose like the golf towel I keep with my gear!).

Dunno about a name, but I just did an online anagram drop of "Lake Sturgeon" and thought one of the results was pretty good.

Great Idea... Here is what I thought of for some names...

"Roundup Reggie"
"Scummy"
"Roughfish Rob"
"Stuey"
"Dino Fish"

And we should have a patch made to iron on to the bottom of him/her. Like "Roughfish.com" with his/her name and return to address.

Sounds like a super cool idea...
