The other night my family went fishing at the Lions Park in St. Croix Falls, WI. (It was Saturday night.)
It was my husband, Stephanie, Dawson and I.
It was about eight pm and a white mini van with MN plates on it came in and parked.
The kids were no more than twenty feet away from us (Stephanie is 12 and Dawson is 6) and this man in his 50's was walking towards us......Nothing new, people always come talk to you when they see you fishing........but instead this man came up and was asking them if he could take pictures of them and where they lived and where they went to school, how old they were, etc. It scared the crap out of me. This man asked these questions in the amount of time it took us to get to the kids, he just kept firing away and several times he told them he wanted to take pictures of them together. After we grabbed the kids and brought them right where we were this man sat in his van and just stared at us. Needless to say we got the heck out of there.
I wasn't going to say anything..........but since we have an OFF TOPIC area now and I am still freaked out.........I wanted to say something. Very creepy.

No doubt. A guy like that probably either has a legal restriction against being anywhere near kids, or should have one.

If you are ever interested in a concealed carry permit there are plenty of places in MN to get one. There are some real creeps(smart ones too) out there. Best tell your children to be aware. I really hope your fishing spot stays intact from weirdos like that.

Yeah........I think my spot is alright and won't be tainted by the memory of this guy.
The kids know not to talk to strangers, but it was kind of a WHOA for us as we haven't run into anyone creepy like that since we have lived here.....just goes to show you...........creepy people drive too!

Hope I didn't sound like I was telling you how to raise your kids. You seem to be a great parent. If you ever see that guy I would call the cops. Seems like he was acting very suspiciously.

No offense taken Pumpkin. It is just nice to know that my fellow RF felt the situation was creepy too....I will just start bringing my BIG bulldog......Louie 110 pounds We had the little Bulldog 70 pounds out at the river today....he did good.
So................no more creepy folks.

What cute dogs those are. I love bulldogs. We have a german short hair who is a duffus but hes cool too. I am rambling....i love dogs!!

I can picture the scene in the hospital:
ER Doc: So, Mr. Purvis, we had to put you under anesthesia for a few hours. Looks like you're coming out of it okay now.
By the way, how did you get injured?
Purvis: I was just innocently trying to talk to some kids in the park when a bear attacked me and chewed off my leg!
Doc: Well, I hate to have to tell you this, but your leg is the least of your worries...
Don't mean to make light of a serious situation for anyone's children, but I think that Louie would be a great fishing partner.

Yeah, things are all good now.
Louie is a great fishing partner as long as there are no other dogs.........which I can't guarantee so it makes him a real pain in the rear to bring along unless it is up to the lake or something.
The little bulldog is MUCH better company when other animals are around.

I would guess that either of those guys would help to keep the kids out of uncomfortable situations. They both look like great dogs, from the pics. You can't help but love the "Winston Churchill" expressions on their faces.
