I was able to get Jason in to see the Ortho guy today (a day earlier than the appt.) He had developed this huge swelling in his calf and was in a lot of pain so he got in early.

We found out that the huge lump in his calf is a hemangioma, blood from the injury and will go away on it's own over the next few weeks.



Also we found out that Jason is REALLY, REALLY lucky that only the MCL is severed...because usually the ACL is injured as well in this type of injury. What that means is that he is in a hinged leg brace now for the next twelve weeks. The ONLY time he can take it off is to shower. This brace will keep his knee stabilized and prevent any side to side movement while the ligament is healing. So, he is able to start walking around. Next Monday he is going to give work a try. Remember that Jason hauls concrete and this is the leg he uses for the clutch. OUCH.


Thanks for the thoughts and prayers they are greatly appreciated. We go see the Ortho in two weeks.

Soooooo.......... He can't work for now but can he fish? I know he is not into fishing as much as you but it might be good for him to hit up Lions park with the easy access. Good for you and Steph also since the last fish you guys pulled up were the sturgeon.

I think you may be on to something, now is the chance to get him hooked on fishing. :D
set up some chairs and sit back and relax, oh and catch sturgeon.

Yeah..........if only he'd want to get out and fish with the weather being so wet.

He is going to try to go back to work Monday....I wish he would wait but the doc said....so if he can do it great...if not, he will be home longer.
