Grass Pick pics.... 3 Months ago
I got me a new lifelister too. Special thanks to JKnuth for the area......It did however take 2 trips to catch these guys. 3 1/2 hour drive one way for a fish under 12 inches.....I think I've gone completly insane.

We all feel the urge Doc! It's just lucky that some unlucky saps, like me get to relive other peoples adventures on this sight.

I've always wanted to catch bigger Walleyes, Muskies, Largemouth Bass, Etc.; but since I've fount this sight I've become obsessed with catching as many spiecies as time allows and not on size.

I'm planning a Croix trip and will hopefully be catching about 10 new lifelisters;...............we'll have to see!

I'm really hopeing for an Eel!

Hey sorry you missed the first trip for the grassies. Looks like you made up for it though. What you call insane, I call passion. Let me know if you want to hook up for an eel trip some time.

I got two of them on small jigs tipped with crawlers. I must have lost a dozen of them before I got my first one. Tricky little buggers they are! Here's a pic of the other fish I got. This one looks like a northern/grassie hybrid, kind of....

Nice fish Doc, i'm jealous. I've got the redfin subspecies of grass pick to chase in south jersey, a 3hour drive for me too. They live in the acidic, tea-colored water of the pine barrens. Apparently they're very difficult to catch on artifical lures. If i can figure the grass pick out i'd toy with the idea of attempting a 24-hour esox grand slam some day.

A grand slam of esox would be a very cool acomplishment. Thats whats left on my esox list, the redfin. I've heard that the redfins get slightly larger than grass picks? Does anyone know the range of the redfin pickerel at all?
