WI Gar Aug 15-16 3 Months ago
We had a decent weekend. Size was good but numbers were low. My brother boated a 43, 44, 46.75". My friend Troy boated a 51" 15#, 47" 12#. I boated a 47" 11#10oz. My wife boated a 45", her biggest yet. The bite was good at or near dusk. We lost a few shortnose too. Caught a few on bluegills.

here's the biggest one

my brother's 5# flat. we were hoping for a 20# plus flathead but maybe next time. We rarely night fish for cats. We need to try it more often.

GAR ARE FUN!

Most people would be ecstatic about one or two of those fish!

On a good day, we usually catch 20-30+ longnose gar. But on Friday we caught 13 and Saturday we caught 10. On Thursday when I didn't go my brother and his friend caught over 30 but nothing over 41".
