Well today is the last day of my vacation. I was able to spend all but a couple days fishing for at least few hours each day. I spent most of my time on the North branch of the Crow river as well as the Sauk river. I had plans to go further but with gas ect. it was hard to get very far. I did break away to Ottertail county to visit my parents. While there my dad guided my to some of the best large mouth bass fishing I have have had, 30 + fish evenings were the norm. The key to the bass was marshy creek mouths. During the day we picked up sunnies and crappies for the kids (and big kids).
On both rivers I was able to catch channel cats, shorthead redhorse, Silver redhorse, walleye, carp and various chubs and shiners. Crawlers and cut bait took all fish. Caught the walleyes on cut creek chub and 2/0 circle; which was odd.
I was able to break my PB carp at 18.5 pounds (32x22).
Sunburn, bent props, dented boat. ROUGHFISHING PRICLESS!!!!
