Looks like my towel is in..... 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago
The way things are going it looks like I may only have one or 2 more days to fish this month and one is a trip that I volunteer for a group called ARM.

Anglers as Role Models!
It is a great day out on the water taking a Big Brother/Sister and their kid out for a day on pool 4. It is on another site I frequent and I know Ryan has heard of this before. I bring this up as a heads up that things like this can really make a difference in not only their future but our future of fishing also. Last year the 2 that I brought out was dead set on catching smallies but I did not find them but I did find some very active white bass for them and I talked to them about all the fish there are in the rivers and lakes that they had never heard of. They had a great time and the kid asked me to take him again next year. SO I had to give up 3 or 4 short trips to make time for something that means a lot to me. If you are interested I could talk to the guy in charge of this event because they are looking for another 11 boaters to make 50 boats. Some of the boats are big buck tourney boats and others are smaller than mine but the kids enjoy any boat they get to go in!

Not asking for sympathy I am lucky to get out on the water almost 100 days a year! (not this year likely) But I wanted to share that this event goes on every year and this will be my second of many years!

Way to make a difference. If I had a boat that was safe to take on pool for I might join you. Things like that are what will save our sport. Thanks for putting in the time and effort.

What would it take to get some pictures of some smiling kids with fish?

I think introducing kids to fishing is more important than any contest. Good on ya

Sounds like a good time Aaron. I was browsing a few weeks back and came across an ARM event in Menominee where they needed boats. I was thinking it could be fun to do because I remember you talking about it, but by the end of the thread they had enough boats. Too bad, 'cause I might have broke the rules and brought some of them over to the river and let them tag into the redhorse/buffalo/cats/drum/sturgeon that it offers up. Definitely a different fight than panfish! But I suppose part of the enjoyment is getting out in the lake/river in a boat.

There's not much that's better than helping a young kid catch fish!

O4L,

I am really proud to say that I know you! It is so important to teach kids about fishing and a lot of kids would never have had this experience had it not been for a person who volunteered their time like you will be doing.

YOU ROCK!
