Finally, A Whitefish

I went out ice fishing today and I finally caught my ultimate ice fishing target. Year after year, I have tried to catch a whitefish from the deep and treacherous waters so close to my home. It ended up happening this year. How great it was to feel this fish on the line after not knowing if it had sucked in the bait or not. I had to time my hookset perfectly by feel, but the hook held in the corner of the mouth until I removed it.

I ate good tonight.

Those lake whitefish are a tough catch, nice job getting one on the right side of the ice!

Right on, man, that's a great lifer.

You're on roll out there. I always dig seeing your stuff.

Fishn sure is neat

Congrats!  An icy lifer is a welcome sight during winter.
